The Habitat Connection - Current
The Habitat Connection is a publication offering news and information that
illustrates the work being done by Habitat for Humanity affiliates in
communities throughout West Virginia. The newsletter is distributed with an
effort to bring awareness to the great need for safe, decent, affordable homes
and to illustrate the work being done by Habitat affiliates in communities
throughout West Virginia.
Habitat for Humanity in West Virginia
In West Virginia, there are 21 local Habitat affiliates who serve 27
counties. Since 1987, affiliates in our State have provided safe, decent,
affordable homes to over 600 partner families. Please contact your local
affiliate for more information on how you can HELP BUILD IT! in your community.

State Partner Spotlight: Wincore Windows and Doors
Habitat for Humanity is extremely pleased to spotlight one of our newest
statewide partners - Wincore. Wincore Windows and Doors is a West Virginia
company providing high quality windows and doors for new construction homes and
replacement projects. Habitat’s partnership with Wincore began in 2010 with the
600th Habitat house in WV. Wincore offers donated and discounted materials to
all Habitat affiliates in our State. We are very pleased to spotlight Wincore as
our newest partner who HELPS BUILT IT! in WV.

National Partner Spotlight: Valspar
Habitat
for Humanity of West Virginia is pleased to spotlight Valspar as one of
our National donors. In the United States, Valspar is the national paint sponsor
for Habitat for Humanity International, donating more than $35 million in cash
and in-kind contributions. Valspar is also the driving force behind
A Brush With
Kindness, an innovative revitalization program with Habitat for Humanity that is
transforming neighborhoods by painting home exteriors and providing minor
repairs and landscaping for low income families, disabled people, and senior
citizens.

The West Virginia Affordable Housing Hall of Fame
2010
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2011 West Virginia Affordable Housing
Hall of Fame. Inductees are individuals, groups, or agencies who have
demonstrated a lifelong commitment to affordable housing and whose career
leadership has achieved important and lasting results in the community.
Recipients of this Award are true leaders in affordable housing and community
investment. Nominations of individuals/groups will have shown dedication and
worked diligently to address affordable housing in West Virginia.
