Wood County HFH
In honor of Wood County Habitat for Humanity’s 20th
Anniversary, and in conjunction with the Parkersburg Bicentennial, a
“Blitz Build” will be held in South Parkersburg on June 19th & 20th at 4304
and 4308 14th Avenue. We will be building as much as possible on WCHFH’s
50th and 51st homes.
Volunteers are needed! WCHFH hopes to involve as many
people in our community as possible. Bring your hammers and join us for this
unique experience! You’ll be glad you did.
The Parkersburg Bicentennial
HABITAT BLITZ BUILD
June 19 – 20, 2010
- Starting on Saturday morning, June 19, with two foundations
and floor systems in place on 14th Avenue in South Parkersburg.
- By the end of the day on Sunday, June 20, two homes will be
under roof!
- Approximately 150 area volunteers will be NEEDED each day
for this feat to be accomplished!
Coming from all over the US, the “Habitat Road Trip Crazies” get
together regularly to blitz-build homes in two days all over the U.S. Over the
years, the “Crazies” have developed a style that combines hard work, sweat, and
humor to build homes at an accelerated pace. The concept is to involve as many
people as possible in experiencing what it feels like to change the world.
The “Crazies” will be bringing up to 50 additional volunteers
with them.
