The West Virginia Affordable Housing Hall of Fame honors individuals, groups or agencies who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to affordable housing and whose career leadership has achieved important and lasting results in the community.

Recipients of this Award are true leaders in affordable housing and housing oriented community development. Individuals or groups will have shown dedication and worked diligently to address affordable housing in West Virginia. Nominees include those who:

  • Have created community projects.
  • Advocate for low-income families or assist them in obtaining affordable housing.
  • Are actively involved in affordable housing related community groups and organizations.
  • Have demonstrated accomplishments in improving housing conditions in WV.

The WV Affordable Housing Hall of Fame was instituted by Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia as vehicle to raise the awareness of the poverty housing crisis that plagues our state. The annual Induction Dinner is organized as a fundraising event with the proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity’s work throughout West Virginia.
